![]() ![]() A cute and colorful art design with a hint of something more sinister reflects the progress, or lack thereof, of a city under siege from rampant capitalism and an overreliance on technology. Tina and SAM-53 must use their wits to help fix a society where mankind has become hopelessly addicted to the technology that allows them to ignore the plight of their city and waste their days in a virtual world.Įncodya has been painstakingly and lovingly crafted from the ground up, including a completely original soundtrack - right down to the ad jingles found across Neo-Berlin - along with 35 unique and distinctive NPCs and a whopping 4,000+ lines of dialogue. Join the plucky ragamuffin Tina and her best pal, an imposing mass of metal and wiring named SAM-53, as they navigate the gritty streets of Neo-Berlin. We will be live streaming Encodya on the /dragonbloggers channel later this morning, so tune in and check our Discord for when we are live.Įncodya follows in the footsteps of beloved titles like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle, but with a hefty dose of dystopian cyberpunk stylings. “We here at Chaosmonger poured our hearts and souls into this project and can’t wait to see people join Tina and SAM-53 on their quest to save Neo Berlin.” ![]() “It’s been a long journey with plenty of blood, sweat, and tears to get Encodya into the hands of players,” said Nicola Piovesan, Founder of Chaosmonger Studio. In keeping with the game’s theme, for every “Save the World” edition sold, Assemble will donate 10% of the proceeds to the children’s charity Plan International, an organization that works to advance children’s rights and equality for girls worldwide. ![]() In classic Assemble Entertainment fashion, a special “Save the World” edition is also available, which comes with the official artbook, soundtrack, several “making-of” videos, and gorgeous high definition wallpapers. It’s set to launch on January 26th, 2021.WIESBADEN, GERMANY (January 26, 2021) – Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Chaosmonger Studio are pleased to announce that their Bladerunner-meets- Full Throttle point-and-click adventure game, Encodya, is now available on Steam and GOG. If Encodya looks like your jam, you can add the game to your wishlist here. The trailer shows that you can swap between the two characters freely, and you’ll be doing so to help solve adventure game style puzzles. The game has a lovely 2.5d art style that really makes it stand out, and the sweeping shots of the city are rather lovely. However, it also looks like it’s looking to make its own style. The game is based on a short film known as Robot Will Protect You, so it has some roots in something interesting. The game is looking to combine “the sweetness of Studio Ghibli, the setting of Blade Runner, and the humor and gameplay of Monkey Island,” and going by what they’ve shown so far it seems to be making that. You can tell it’s the future by the towering skylines, the flying cars, and the fact that the city name starts with Neo. The game puts you in the role of an orphaned 9 year old named Tina and her robotic protector SAM-53, both of whom live in Neo-Berlin in the year 2062. Thankfully we have video games like Encodya, which show that future but at least it’s kind of cute. In the real world we’re heading towards a dystopia where everything is controlled by businesses looking to make a buck off of you. Encodya Looks to Make the Dystopian Future Cute ![]()
